Designing for How You Imagine Your Home Will Feel

To create a feeling that would work well with a formal dining area that was in the same room, Landon came up with the idea of elevating this kitchen 15" on furniture legs. He then put drawers in the toe kick and gave the owner more storage--down to 1" off the floor. The Fisher Paykel Dish Drawer made this concept possible. Note the twin windows added on the east wall. They bring in light without focusing our attention on what's beyond (in this case, a parking lot!). Imagine building this kitchen in your head--which is what Landon has to do in order to order cabinets correctly!

The Fisher-Paykel Dish Drawer is located to the left of the kitchen sink and has three drawer fronts attached, to match the stack of three drawer fronts to the right of the sink and to the left of the oven.
At right angles to it, on the back side of the peninsula, is a GE Advantium oven.

Cabinets: Aristocratic Cabinets; Chehalis, WA

Note the lift-up appliance storage and the arc in the door that matches the arc across the top of the Elan oven, the copper-lined arch above the Lacanche cooktop  and the arch in the tile back splash.
