THUMBNAIL TOUR* *Selected from over 70 published projects |
Interview: 2013 Seattle Home Show |
Transforming your home starts when you imagine how different your home would feel. RL- "We imagine how your home could resolve six critical pathways, summarized in this article I wrote for Northwest Living magazine, "If You Only Knew This..." You will discover and clarify what that means with the Designed by L.I.F.E.TM process. Solutions are more personal and authentic--more than than a designer's signature look. They surpass standard sizes (especially conventional 24"-deep base and 12"-deep wall cabinets). RL- "Client-based, pathway-driven designs offer more than fitting boxes into a space. By knowing effective storage solutions, I can provide 2-3x more usable storage in the same amount of space." Homes on this website have distinct personalities; they reflect the client. RL- "To that end, I shaped the spaces, specified the finishes, detailed and set up the CAD/CAM files for and provided the cabinets, plus, drew the lighting plans." Stories varied widely, as did budgets. See this example where the materials budget was either $17,000 or $71,000... for the same plan! (Landon's career story began by helping a young widow.) Some clients remodeled their homes; others fine-tuned or "remodeled" a new home's blueprints. Some used contractors; others did much of the work themselves. For some, we designed a new home from the ground up (or transformed the original)! A sample, extracted from a larger set, is shown to the right. (Download times will vary.) Starting and staying in the Designed by L.I.F.E.TM process of Richard Landon, CMKBD*, is your first step towards creating a project that will justify your investment, one that "looks great, works well and, most important, feels right"--to you! * Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer.
